4 year old girl, misquoting the Lord's Prayer

Its been a few days since I actually talked to Kristina. I think its best for now that we only correspond on e-mails even though I really want to see her. Its because I want to see her so badly that I am trying to keep a little distance. Things are going well now or at least I'm in a good place. I miss her but I don't feel lonely...Maybe slow and steady can still win this race..

I was off today..I decided to take a walk through the neighborhood..I was thinking of Kris..She loves flowers, so I decided to email her some pics from my walk via my celly.. I`am really feeling out of element..only not really in a bad way yet..

I think that my biggest issue with this lag in my dating life is that it never used to be an issue. I never loved long enough to feel a bond or achieve sense of oneness with most of my past relationships. Dating, even as little as a year ago was pretty cut and dry. I'm fairly attractive in the right light, can be quite musing at times, and I daresay a very sensual being..I have no fear of approaching women that I am interested in. Recently though...I can only say that being in love with someone who is seemingly unsure of their feelings about you, or even if she's just not saying....is not a good place to be. I also have a bit of an ego, in case you hadn't realized..I'm honestly not used to being on this side of the fence..

online.dating.update

Well, suffice it to say that on-line dating sucks. For me anyway..I didn't expect much I guess, and you only get out of something what you out into it..yeah, ok...But it just doesn't seem to mkae sense to me..The whole On-Line Dating is just plain OLD. How many e-mails can you respond to from russia women looking for marriage anyway.. I mean, really half the emails I received were either from Elena or Tatiana and just wanted to get into the US..

Chuck Shepherd's News of the Weird (.911)

WEEK OF JULY 24, 2005
A subculture of hip-hop music has developed recently among computer science professionals, who taunt each other in verse much as mainstream rap artists do, according to a June report on Wired.com. "Geeksta" rappers like Ytcracker and MC Plus+ spin verses such as the latter's "I'm encrypting shit like every single day / sending it across a network in a safe way / protecting messages to make my pay / if you hack me you're guilty under DMCA" (referring to a federal copyright law). Explained another, "Monzy": "(I)nstead of boasting about our bitches, blunts, Benzes or Benjamins, maybe we talk about our math skills or the efficiency of our code." A hip-hop journal editor doubted the genre would endure, though, because so far the major artists are males: "You're going to need some females." [Wired.com, 6-23-05]

The funny thing is this is written as though it were avant-garde, when really just fuckin pathetic. I mean don't get me wrong, Hip-Hop hs definitely been bestowed upon the world as gift for all to enjoy..but "Geeksta" just seems kind "Weak-sta". Give us all a break..

Japanese develop 'female' android

By David Whitehouse
Science editor, BBC News website
Japanese scientists have unveiled the most human-looking robot yet devised - a "female" android called Repliee Q1.

She has flexible silicone for skin rather than hard plastic, and a number of sensors and motors to allow her to turn and react in a human-like manner.

She can flutter her eyelids and move her hands like a human. She even appears to breathe.

Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University says one day robots could fool us into believing they are human.

Repliee Q1 is not like any robot you will have seen before, at least outside of science-fiction movies.

She is designed to look human and although she can only sit at present, she has 31 actuators in her upper body, powered by a nearby air compressor, programmed to allow her to move like a human.

We have found that people forget she is an android while interacting with her
Prof Hiroshi Ishiguro
"I have developed many robots before," Repliee Q1's designer, Professor Ishiguro, told the BBC News website, "but I soon realised the importance of its appearance. A human-like appearance gives a robot a strong feeling of presence."

Designed to look human

Before Repliee Q1, Professor Ishiguro developed Repliee R1 which had the appearance of a five-year-old Japanese girl.

Its head could move in nine directions and it could gesture with its arm. Four high-sensitivity tactile sensors were placed under the skin of its left arm that made the android react differently to differing pressures.
The follow-up has the appearance of a Japanese woman. To program her motion, a computer analysed the motions of a human and used them as a template for the way Repliee Q1 moves.

She can be designed to follow the movement of a human wearing motion sensors or to act independently.

"Repliee Q1 can interact with people. It can respond to people touching it. It's very satisfying, although we obviously have a long way to go yet."

Professor Ishiguro believes that it may prove possible to build an android that could pass for a human, if only for a brief period.

"An android could get away with it for a short time, 5-10 seconds. However, if we carefully select the situation, we could extend that, to perhaps 10 minutes," he said.

"More importantly, we have found that people forget she is an android while interacting with her. Consciously, it is easy to see that she is an android, but unconsciously, we react to the android as if she were a woman."

But you just know he's thinking.."I can't wait to get this sexy bitch home and plug her in.."

Better Man
I’ve done some things in the past,
that seemed not so right.
I’ve hurt
I’ve lied
I've taken things and people for granted
I’ve broken promises
But that was another part of my life.
A time when I could see no good in most people,
A time when I saw only darkness and deceit around me,
A time that I have let go of.
And then I met you
Who brought light to the world
and my very existence.
And now I seek better things
Sing happier songs
Say Kinder things
I could do no less with you in my life
Because of you I live to be a better man
